Lucky Thirteen

By , August 12, 2019

Yesterday we celebrated the thirteenth anniversary of moving to the homestead.

We’re smack dab in the middle of Reserve Week, when we try to avoid social obligations beyond Michelle’s birthday, our homestead anniversary, and our wedding anniversary, in a couple of days (see August 14, 1982).

We’re also smack dab in the middle of a drought! While that causes a lot of serious problems, it also means that we held our celebration in sunny, warm weather.

And, we’re also mid-tourist season, and since Michelle and Aly work in the industry, we had to celebrate in a flexible way.

Ten Years At Home

By , August 11, 2016

Today marks the 10 anniversary of our move to the Zeiger Family Homestead.

None of us can quite believe that we’ve been here a full decade now. Originally, we swore to give it 3 years, or 5. Both milestones, and the years since, seemed to fly by. Apparently, we’ve made the right decision. The great risk brought great reward!
