Monthly Movie for November

I can hardly believe that this year-long project is already drawing toward completion. I decided to shoot a short film from the same spot on the beach each month of 2019, and here, already, is November’s film! Just one more to go after this, to complete the set.

I shot this film this morning. Sorry about my gasping—I can’t seem to avoid holding my breath as I try to pan the arc smoothly. The “white noise” in the rest of the video is the sound of runoff torrents cascading down the far shore.

Ironically, the day changed significantly after I finished. The rain, which has been heavy the last few days, lightened, the south wind rose, and the day suddenly looked very different from what the video shows above.

Yesterday, I hiked out to spend the day with Aly while she dog/house sits. Rain soaked through my raincoat on the hike to the road, then we took the two big dogs she sits for a long walk, until we were all waterlogged. Then, soup and a puzzle, while the dogs flopped down on their beds and slept at our feet. It was a cozy day, all in all.
