Fitness, Homestead-Style

She’s probably going to kill me for showing you this, but I can’t resist . . . .

When she was 20 years old, Michelle and her grandmother made a wedding dress for her to wear four days after her 21st birthday. She looked gorgeous in it.

In August, just after she turned 56, she pulled the dress out of storage and tried it on.

The homestead lifestyle apparently works well, at least for us. It certainly looks good on Michelle!

You may ask where the photos of me in my powder blue wedding suit are. That suit is long gone, but I’d bet I could still fit into it. But, it’s a men’s suit—even homemade, it was a little big then, and would probably still be today. The dress is an entirely different matter.

When people ask us why we work so hard to live as we do, I sometimes find it difficult to put our reasons into words. To paraphrase the old saying, a couple of pictures might save me a thousand or so . . . .

Hi Mark & family sitting here reading your blog listening to Carole King’s Tapestry lovely story, I am sure you have a few stories to tell along the way (don’t we all). Wasn’t it john Lennon who said life is what happens when you are busy making plans haha . Thinking of everyone your side of the pond with all the terrible hurricanes lately. All the best Robin

Hi Robin, that particular album brings to mind a lot of stories from back in the day! Thanks for your thoughts and good wishes–many in the country need it!
