At The End of the Day

Tuesday was an exciting but frustrating fishing day. The water was clear enough that I could see very well as fish after fish followed and chased my lures, then turned away without striking. One or two were quite large, possibly salmon rather than the Dolly Varden char I expected. High winds made fishing difficult. At one point, my hook snagged hard, and when I followed it down the beach for a better angle, I found it on the rocks behind me!

I eventually gave up, but I spent the rest of the afternoon and evening gazing out at the water, thinking of the fish I didn’t get. That’s how I ended up on the beach around 9:30 last night to snap this photo. Maybe it wasn’t such a bad day after all.
