SELKIE under sail in Echo Cove
Cruising Echo Cove with Lion's Head in the background.

Our biggest trip on Selkie this year was one of the best vacations we've ever had! We arranged to meet Dave and Anke aboard Luna in Echo Cove up in Berners Bay for a two-week cruise and liveaboard.

SELKIE and LUNA dried out

The anchorage at Echo Cove dried out at half low tide, with the boats settling gently on a huge bed of soft mud and seaweed.

On our way north, Mark had pointed out to Aly a crew member using a bosun's chair to go up into the rigging of a passing sail yacht. It captured her imagination, so she was thrilled to discover that her uncle and aunt had a bosun's chair on Luna. One day while we were dried out, she got to ride their chair up Luna's foremast.
